Lies spill from your lips with ease,
Wonder if they leave a bitter taste
like it does when I hear them.
Does the flavor of misconception
caresses your palate fruitfully
like they once did with me?
My taste buds no longer crave
the flavor of your false narratives
and tales you love so much.
I’ll just continue to let your spiel
of distorted truth roll over my tongue
where I can discern truth from lie.
The taste is so bitter where it was once
sweet enough to make me want more,
but now it’s just a nasty tang in my mouth.
